Rejection hurts in the moment , but it also means that the right opportunity or person is still out there.
Some day you will be so happy this or that job or person did not work out , because then something or someone better can come along.

Rejection and failure mean we are stepping outside our comfort zone and trying new things. After the rejection we have more information than we had before so we can choose to learn from it, and move forward to be better prepared for the future.

I was fired twice in my work career, neither of those instances had anything to do with my work performance, the companies were looking to cut payroll (and in their eyes) I was making too much money. In both situations, losing my job turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. It opened doors to new opportunities that wouldn’t have occurred otherwise.
